Our hygiene starts and ends with our hands. We are taught in our childhood to wash our hands before eating food, it’s important to remember that germs don’t care what time of day it is. Regularly washing your hand is the best way to remove germs. Cleaning hands regularly prevent you from getting sick. By maintaining personal hygiene, you can protect yourself and your family from germs and other viruses. Whether you are at home, at the office, traveling, or out in the community always remember to wash your hands with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds. And if you don’t have soap use hand sanitizer which contains at least 60 percent alcohol.

How Germs Spread

Washing hands can keep you and your family healthy and prevent the spread of diarrheal and respiratory infections from one person to another.
• Touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with un hygiene hands
• Touch your mask
• Eating food and drinks with unwashed hands
• When you enter a mall or restaurant and other public places.
• Blow your nose and sneeze into hands
• When touching other people’s hands or common objects such as shopping carts, door handle, tables, chair, public transport, and many more.

The process of washing hands is easy, and it’s the most effective way to prevent from spreading of germs in this pandemic situation. Regularly washing your hands can stop spreading germs from one person to the other person and throughout an entire community—from your home and workplace to childcare facilities and hospitals.
Step 1- Wet your hands with clean water, then apply soap.
Step 2- Then rubbing your hand together. Lather the backs of your hands, your nail, and between your fingers.
Step 3 – Scrub your hands minimum of 20 seconds.
Step 4 – Wash your hands well under clean water.
Step 5 – Dry your hands by air drying or your towel or air dry them.

In this National Handwashing Awareness Week, take cleanliness and hygiene seriously to keep yourself away from germs and viruses.
